Meditation has proven essential both in getting sober and in maintaining fulfilling and meaningful recovery for any extended period of time. It helps to guard against potential relapse, as well as provide a wide variety of psychological benefits ranging from low blood pressure to a good night’s sleep. The link between sobriety and the peace of mind achieved through meditation is inextricable, and it is for this reason that we believe wholeheartedly in its healing properties.

Neck or back pain?

As of recently, the use of acupuncture to treat chemical dependencies to drugs and alcohol has been greatly increasing in popularity amongst members of the professional addiction treatment community. Clinical evidence supports the benefits of acupuncture in relation to impulse control and avoiding relapse. If you or someone you love is battling a life-threatening addiction to drugs or alcohol, the incorporation of this specialized service into an extended treatment program can prove hugely beneficial in obtaining and maintaining sobriety.

The regular practice of yoga is a component of recovery that many drug and alcohol treatment centers, including The Hope Center for Rehabilitation, have found highly beneficial, and thus have incorporated into our addiction recovery program. Yoga has demonstrated effectiveness both on a clinical level and on the level of individual experience, facilitating the calm, concentration and peace of mind necessary to attain long-term recovery.

Art Therapy

Art therapy tools, in many instances, allow someone the opportunity to physically express the devastation caused by prolonged substance dependency, when otherwise it is verbally difficult. Talking through traumatic experiences takes time, and some may not be ready to discuss specific events for years. Additionally, some matters are simply too difficult to convey through spoken word. Some feelings and emotions are indescribable.

Stress is one of the leading reasons why people turn to substance abuse to quell their emotional state. Massage Therapy is an ancient form of stress relief, and while it physically relieves the body, it has incredible benefits for the mind.
